Summer in the time of COVID, we are all feeling so much! The sweet smell of honeysuckle vines alongside trails and neighborhood streets has been relief from quarantine life just by itself, but the Japanese honeysuckle can do so much more. Classified as one of the 50 fundamental Chinese traditional herbs, the flowers have many medicinal properties that aid in digestion, respiratory health, and topically! We handcrafted this honeysuckle flower tincture locally and ethically, with organic culinary solvent and is meant for internal use.
For those of us familiar with taking herbal tinctures we know all too well how abrasive some tinctures can taste, however when the tincture of honeysuckle is used in a glass of water or to any beverage, it adds a sweet floral essence that not only lifts your spirits but can leave you breathing easier as well! Here is a description of the main uses of honeysuckle provided by Webmd:
“Honeysuckle is used for digestive disorders including pain and swelling (inflammation) of the small intestine (enteritis) and dysentery; upper respiratory tract infections including colds, influenza, swine flu, and pneumonia; other viral and bacterial infections; swelling of the brain (encephalitis); fever; boils; and sores. Honeysuckle is also used for urinary disorders, headache, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and cancer. Some people use it to promote sweating, as a laxative, to counteract poisoning, and for birth control.”
We are excited to bring honeysuckle into our team of plant allies that are readily available locally and can help with symptoms of COVID!
